Scottish Youth Theatre has a training opportunity for emerging artists to form a company of three performers/devisers who will work with Artistic Director, Mary McCluskey, to create SYT’s festive show Tommy and the Snowbird. This opportunity would suit young people in the very early stages of developing a career in the arts with an interest in creating fully interactive theatre experiences for 3 to 7 year olds and their families.
Each of the successful performers/devisers will receive a training bursary of £1,200 for upto 40 days performance and rehearsal. The work will take place at Scottish Youth Theatre’s home base in Glasgow. Performers/devisers may be required to attend photoshoots and other training opportunities outwith SYT for which travel expenses will be reimbursed.
SYT seeks trainee performers age 18-25 years with experience of theatre. Applications from artists who have wider creative backgrounds are positively encouraged e.g. music, dance, physical theatre, design. You should have a keen interest in developing work for younger audiences through a collaborative process and a commitment to developing your skills in all aspects of theatre.
Auditions will take place on Sat 30 Sep at Scottish Youth Theatre.
