In 2018 Youth Theatre Arts Scotland (YTAS), in partnership with Macrobert Arts Centre, will present Scotland’s first ever National Convention of Youth Drama – an inspiring, engaging and inclusive meeting place for everyone who uses drama and theatre in their work with young people.
Over two days a diverse offering of workshops, keynote speeches, panel discussions, presentations, surgeries and master classes will explore the role that drama and theatre has to play in enriching young lives.
In addition, we are also delighted to invite you to host short sessions and contribute your voice to the event. The Convention’s overall programme will encompass four areas of focus:
ARTISTIC – Drama and youth theatre as an art form
EDUCATION – Drama and theatre in formal education
COMMUNITY – Drama and theatre in a youth work or community setting
PATHWAYS – From school to a working life in the arts
We’re looking for proposals from individuals, organisations or schools (YTAS members and non-members alike) to share knowledge or an area of practice, relating to one or more of the four strands listed above, that you’re passionate about, expert in, or simply keen to discuss with your peers.
We will select up to nine 15-minute sessions to be delivered on Friday 23 March. These could be; presentations, case studies, round table discussions or something else. It’s up to, and over to you!
