A supportive environment where young people (aged 5-14) can develop their skills and interest in theatre. Bring ideas and stories alive on stage, improve your confidence and work as a team. Most of all – have fun! Beacon Youth Theatre (or just BYT) is a place where young people use their imagination, share their ideas, tell real life stories and then collaborate to bring them to life on stage. It’s a positive and supportive environment, open to all and there’s no need to audition. Everyone who participates is encouraged to see how they can use their voice to effect change in the world through the art of theatre and performance, while gaining experience in creating devised performances and plays, improvising and learning theatre performance, writing and backstage skills. Weekly workshops are laid-back, giving young people the freedom (and confidence) to be themselves, be creative and make new friends – all experiences that will last a lifetime.
