David Ross

Location: David is a Freelance Community Theatre Director, Drama Tutor, and Secondary School Drama Teacher who has provided professional theatre tuition throughout Edinburgh, the Lothians, Fife and the Borders. David studied at Queen Margaret University, graduating with an Honours Degree in Drama and Performance; as well as a Post Graduate Diploma in Education (PDGE) in Secondary Drama, at The University of Edinburgh. David is creative and enthusiastic, with effective organisation and time management skills. His focus is on promoting inclusion in the arts. He works with the fundamental belief that everyone is an artist, and that everyone can learn transferable skills through involvement in community arts.

Notable productions: David has an extensive directing portfolio dating back 10 years, including, Oliver, Little Shop of Horrors, Disney's Mary Poppins Jnr, Summer Holiday, West Side Story, Grease (School Edition), Guys and Dolls, Disney's Beauty and the Beast, Anything Goes, Annie, The Sound of Music and The Wizard of Oz. David has also produced numerous new pieces of work with various youth theatres over the past 5 years, including the CXYP 3 Plays in 3 Days, ELYT Showcase, and BYT Summer School. He has twice directed his own version of C.S Lewis 'The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe', as well as Willy Russell's 'Our Day Out'. He has also directed as part of the Edinburgh Fringe 2019
Previous employers: David has worked and collaborated with a variety of groups/ companies, including, Brunton Youth Theatre, Corn Exchange Young Performers, East Lothian Youth Theatre, Loretto Youth Players, Mix and Pick Theatre, Musselburgh Amateur Musical Association, Dunbar Grammar School.
