Remote future for Youth Theatre Arts Scotland

We’ve all had to make adaptations to our lives this year and with those have come some unexpected realisations. One big realisation for us here at Youth Theatre Arts Scotland is that we don’t actually need to have a physical office. So we’ve made the decision to embrace the green revolution, reduce our charity’s expenditure, and move to a permanent remote set-up.

This means that at the end of October we’ll be saying goodbye to Summerhall, our home for the past five years, and to the hustle and bustle of Edinburgh’s Southside.

A truly national organisation

The YTAS team are based all across the country, and with none of us commuting into Edinburgh anymore, that’s a massive environmental bonus! From our ‘new’ home bases in Glasgow, Fife, Falkirk, the Borders and Edinburgh, we’ll be better placed to call ourselves a truly national organisation, and hope that our remote set-up will encourage future job applications from all over the country with geography no longer a barrier.

How to reach us

In practical terms, although we won’t have a physical office any longer, we do have a new registered company address with a helpful mail forwarding service so please be assured that any mail you send us mail via surface post will reach us. Our new registered address is:

Youth Theatre Arts Scotland
64a Cumberland Street
Edinburgh,
EH3 6RE

If you have us in your address book, please update your records, and we look forward to engaging with you remotely from the end of October. Our phone number won’t be changing so you can still reach us by phone if you prefer.

PS. We’re in the process of clearing out our office and have some good quality office furniture going spare, so do get in touch if you’re in the market for a new desk, chair or storage solution. We’ll also be listing some things on our eBay page, some of which we kept for posterity from previous fundraising campaigns. We have very limited numbers of T-shirts and memorabilia, signed by our champion patron Sam Heughan, available to help us raise some extra funds, so keep an eye out for those too!
