Welcome to our COVID-19 Guidance Toolkit for youth theatres and youth theatre practitioners as we all navigate the uncharted and choppy waters of the novel coronavirus and its effects on our daily lives.

Below you’ll find guidance and signposting to helpful information on the financial support that is available for individuals. If we’ve missed anything you think we should be sharing with the sector, please get in touch and we’ll make sure it’s added.

COVID-19: financial support for individuals

  • Information about your eligiblity to claim Universal Credit, Employment and Support Allowance and other benefits is clearly explained by MoneySavingExpert
  • Acting for Others provides financial and emotional support to all theatre workers in times of need through their 14 member charities.
  • The UK Covid-19 Freelance Artist Resources List is a collection of links to resources to help freelance creatives and artists during the current Coronavirus COVID-19 pandemic. It includes information about benevolent, emergency and hardship funding.
  • Turn2us is a national charity helping people when times get tough. They give financial support and provide information to help people get back on track.
  • Advice about employment rights and what to do if you’re struggling to pay your bills can be found at Citizens Advice Scotland
  • The Scottish Welfare Fund provides families and people in Scotland with grants to help with living costs
